Man, I hate when people use that "give it a chaaaance" line.

"OH ONCE YOU WADE THROUGH ALL THE AWFUL CRAP YOU'LL SEE THAT IT'S REALLY QUITE GOOD."

No. If there's lots of crap to wade through, then it's not good.

That's debatable, a lot of the time good shows start out slowly. Once everybody finds their feet the quality vastly improves.

This is the reason I sometimes wait until most or all of the first season is done before I check out a series. Let the reviews roll in first, then I make a decision on whether or not I'll give it a shot.

I have other priorities in my life. I can't sit around waiting to see if a show gets better.

If you don't enjoy that first episode, or even the first part of the episode then you're free to go. I hate the "it gets better after episode 10" arguments. Viewers shouldn't have to wade through crap to get to fun. If they're not enjoying it, forcing more crap on them is not going to help
