I'm currently reading Dragonforge by James Maxey. It's entertaining enough, but short on likeable characters, and the premise is that genetically-engineered dragons are ruling a world where most humans have lost their technology and reverted to a tribal existence. Still, uh. Entertaining enough.

Also Heirs of the Blade by Adrian Tchaikovsky, which is the seventh installment in one of my favourite ongoing fantasy series. Inventive premise, huge and ever-expanding world, and a good cast including plenty of strong women. Probably not a great read for people with a phobia of bugs, though.
