Just picked up the third book in the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher. It's a fun fantasy series, but very predictable. If I'm wrong about who Tavi really is (made the guess by the end of book one and was proven right on one aspect by the end of book two), then I'll eat a whole shop full of hats.

Also a mermaid book - Mermaid: A Twist On a Classic Tale by Carolyn Turgeon - which, like werewolf books, tend to be very disappointing, but I keep trying anyway out of love.

And I've had The Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajaniemi for months now, but it intimidates the hell out of me, so I've been putting it off.
