i had the problem where i used to ship house/cuddy hard early on but then couldn't stand their dynamic in the later seasons and house/wilson became more interesting to me. now, upon catching older episodes, i just get really sad/nostalgic because i loved (and still love) cuddy a lot but knowing how her character will pretty much get thrown out down the road is really depressing

I'm a H/W fan, and I'd say the major comm for that would be house_wilson. It also has a recs and request comm with tags, so it's a good way to start. There's also fanfic archives: general ones like ff.net or AO3, but there's also one specifically for House. That one isn't very up to date though. Oh, and crack_van probably has a House tag.

I'm okay with the Cuddy/House pairing before the show actually put them together and pretty much retconned Stacy out of House's life.

True. I don't much like Stacy, but she was an important part of House's life at one point. The show writers created her. It was annoying when they tried to ignore her existence in his past.

But they brought her back in the finale. She wasn't retconned out...

It looked pretty obvious that they brought her back because LE wouldn't come back.

Up until that moment, the entire H/Cu relationship basically did retcon her out of his life. They acted like House had pined for Cuddy for 20 years and that he always knew she was the only one for him. What does that say about his relationship with Stacy? That he was with her because he couldn't have Cuddy? I didn't even like Stacy but that was bullshit.

Man, House/Cuddy/Wilson was my jam for so long. :( I'll never understand why they ruined it like they did. Like, get them together or don't, but don't draaaaaaaaag it out, eventually get them together and then horribly run the ship into the ground two seconds later. At least House/Wilson had a happy ending, kinda.

I will never be able to get past the fact that her name is "Cuddy." It makes me think of cuddling and teddy bears and pediatrics. Baby formula! Baby food! Diapers! Wet-wipes!

Anyway, she creeps me out as a result.

Yeah, I still prefer House/Cuddy, but by the time the show ended I was so sick of House (and 'House') in general that I've been out of the fandom entirely.
