That nauseated thrill happens to me too. I'm sure there are plenty of us that feel that way; probably lurkers too.

Even here, using an anonymous sock, more often than not I'll abandon typing a comment halfway through because I start to overthink it.

Are you me? Jesus, I've typed a paragraph or two before then over-thought how everyone would perceive it and deleted the entire thing.

The best I can suggest to OP is just to be yourself and have fun, and if no one notices you it probably isn't your fault. Fandom is a fickle mistress and as far as I can tell, there's no formula to being popular or making friends; it's a game of luck, though of course you do have to make some effort.

Yeah, you do get hate sometimes.

But it's usually petty stuff like this. Which makes it pretty easy to just not give a fuck.

I can see where that'd be assumed, but I make one pledge here and now: I have not, nor will I ever, sockpuppet a conversation with myself.

Nor would I ever go anon to respond to somebody as a different person in a conversation I've started. The lamest people are the ones who can't sell what they have to say by themselves.

I might start anon on occasion (though the threshold of things I'm willing to put my name on is pretty high) and keep it that way, but Butthurt anon is a separate asspained entity, who's shown up a few other times (or maybe it's more then one? All my haters are anon, hard to tell how many I actually have.)

This honestly isn't about me though. It's about getting the stuff in your brain out before your brain tries to pull it back in. Sometimes you just gotta be impulsive with it and click "post!" then go to some other part before you can click "edit" or "delete", because that's step two and I should have mentioned it before.

So I could take pride in it.
