Wait, so she was spying on everyone's private lives and then got pissed that the notes she took on her escapades in invasion of privacy were read because she had written 'private' on them?

I haven't seen the movie in a long time so I may be remembering incorrectly but originally the notebook only held personal observations (nosy ones sure, but I don't think she broke in anywhere to make them) and opinions. It wasn't until someone read her notebook out loud and she was shunned that she started to actively invade other people's privacy for revenge. Not that two wrongs make a right or anything.

Most of them, IIRC, weren't even actually spying so much as hearing it through walls, it being out in public, etc.
