Um, no judgement here or anything but do you mind if I ask why? Or if you have any Hotch/Reid recs that might explain? I just can't see it myself and I've never read anything that came close to explaining it. I just have a hard time seeing what other people see in it.

Oh, and I'm not OP.

Not OP but...I could see it as a mentor type of romance, or a fatherly thing which weirds me out but a lot of people out there seem to like that.

Personally I always was intrigued of their relationship in the early seasons. Later they almost have no contact but before that they have some amazing scenes.

Especially during the Hankel case in which Hotch knows exactly what Reid means. This is pretty much the moment which started my pairing love.

Before them I tried to ship Morgan/Reid but somehow it never fits. I can't really explain my feelings but I always see them more as younger/older brother.

First I also thought Reid/Hotch have an father-son-relationship or mentorish but it don't see right for me. Gideon is more the mentor/father figure for Reid so what is Hotch? Sure, he is his boss but they have also some cute, funny or serious scenes and talks. There are friends. Reid is the first person who finds out the truth about Hotchs divorce and Hotch is the one who talks with him about this topic. Also Hotch is the first person Reid hugs after Hankel.

Sadly I'm not really good to explain in the matter to explain why I ship some pairings. Often it is a matter of chemistry I see between the actors. Or the pairing hits some of my kinks (here for example boss-employee, age difference, forbidden fruit through Hotchs marriage and some others).

Though honestly I'm hoping it doesn't take because the last thing I need right now is another pairing to consume my thoughts. :D

Haha, I understand you. I started to watch the show because I was sure that there will be no pairing for me. Everytime I catched an episodes I love the team but I didn't really saw special interaction between team members. Then I start to watch the show with 1.0 but then I saw all episodes and after Hankel I was lost.

Stupid laptop posted the entry before I was finish. -_-

Like I mentioned. I need to see the early episodes to really realize the slashiness of Reid/Hotch. After that I couldn't resist. Still CM isn't a fandom in which I really ship. Normally I am a multi-shipper but in this fandom I only like one pairing. Sometimes I only enjoy Rossi/Prentiss but I only read for Reid/Hotch fics. There are the perfect fit for me so maybe there are also your perfect pairing for this show. ^^

Also the fandom isn't sooo big so don't worry. It is easy to catch up and to read all the new post everyday. :)
