I just checked the tag, and then mourned my faith in humanity. What the actual fuck, tumblr?

I'm sure it started as an attempt to be ironic, and then people actually started shipping it, because that is what happens when you try too hard to be ironic.

That being said, I could totally ship video game consoles, but that'd be mostly to piss off fanboys devoted to one or the other.

It'd have to be one of the handhelds! I'm seeing the 3DS as Mercutio, DS Lite as Benvolio. Tybalt would of course be the PSP.

I was never ironic about my shipping of celestial bodies! But I'm also in Hetalia fandom, so I'm used to it.

I've been shipping consoles and their companies for ages. Like PSP used to make fun of DS all the time because DS was so fat (but secretly, they considered them phat). DS hated this teasing so much they blocked PSP out, focused on cherishing their many many friends, and hey, DS got in shape because she stopped being so sad all the time and just lived life ♥ (PSP is too stubborn to admit the attraction)

Oh, and have you heard of former high school rivals Squaresoft and Enix? I thought it was soooo romantic when Enix couldn't stand to see their competitor in a rough spot, potentially unable to challenge them, and let them sleep on the couch while they got back on their feet. Who would have thought that'd lead to them getting married!

Oh, and Suda51/Kojima is basically canon.
And Sony/Nintendo. I still ship it even after TPTB sunk it to hell.

I definitely enjoy reading them and it makes me feel a lot less self conscious about the weird stuff I've said to people about shipping inanimate objects. If someone as cool as you does it then they can just stfu and be jeally.
