Some people just like their RL and fandom life to be separated. Everyone has their own reasons for feeling that way (on both sides of the spectrum), but personally I wouldn't want any of my family to find this account; it would be anxiety inducing knowing they could read my comments at any time, and then I'd feel the need to censor myself (or abandon the account altogether).

Also, I know some people have been internet stalked or harassed before, and especially in cases like that it's completely understandable to want to be careful with your identity.
