I don't have a favorite non-human anatomy. However, I do like it when a writer will draw attention to the differences. I like it even more if they make the difference relevant to the plot.

On a different note, it saddens me sometimes when a human is in an interspecies relationship and the differences are never mentioned, especially if they're pretty major, because I feel like they just put another human in the alien's place and slapped the alien character's name on.

I'm just going to leech onto this comment with a +1.

absolutely agreeing with your second point. how disappointing to figure out that a bizarre creature miraculously has a human's reproductive bits. you know what i'd fucking read, is a story where they both get each others' clothes off and wonder how the fuck sex is gonna work

Well, one episode where they mentioned it. They were like, "Oh wait... this isn't going to work..."

Which was refreshing since all the other sex in the series seemed to be peachy keen and there were hybrids galore.

lol yeah it would be refreshing to see that addressed. I find it hilarious that the show handwaved any pesky realism in order to include hot interspecies boning.

Well, come on. Why else would we travel the stars? It couldn't possibly be for science, exploration, curiosity, or learning. Perish the thought. It was for the boning. The hot, hot boning. With a salt monster. Oh yeah.

BTW, looking at you icon made me think of the fact that Thor is actually an alien. So now I'm thinking of his junk in the shape of a hammer. Because. Just because.
