Or people could just, you know, ignore all the potential circejerk highschool drama BS and just focus on the works, themselves.
We could put on our adult pants and look at things objectively.
Maybe I'm expecting too much out of people.

You're going to need to prepare yourself. That "potential circejerk highschool drama BS" is going to be there for the rest of your life. There's no reason fandom will be different. Workplace dynamics = a lot like high school.

Pretty much this - the only major differences is that some people get a lot better at hiding what they're doing, and it's on a much larger scale.
