(Anonymous) 2012-09-26 02:10 am (UTC)(link)And that's why I bailed on Bones. It wasn't deft or a subplot. Nearly every single episode seemed to telegraph the...impending couplehood...of B/B. You're right, when it's done right, it's like a beautiful dance that you get to be privy to - X-Files and SVU (imo) did it exactly right. It was never the point of either show, so the relationships grew organically from the episodes, the plotlines, the arcs and the myths of the show. That's my favorite kind of "will they/won't they", when they are NOT the point of the show, but shine anyway.
But I'm probably in the minority as B/B has fans coming out of the woodwork to foam over every single "twist". So, you know.
Bones was unbearable after they fucked up Zack's character so badly.
Yeah, that too. And the way they tried to act as though all the 'clues' were there? No. If the shipping angle hadn't driven me away, that would have been the last nail in the coffin of my patience.
