Not sure I was quite that drastic about it, but fandom's definitely opened my eyes to problematic writing in various shows & stuff, so that's a good thing. (Though...come on, something to poke fun at? Yeah, there are too many straight white dudes on TV and I'm all for calling that out and/or preferring more diverse things, but mocking a show JUST for that is a little tryhard. Just saying.)
