I am really looking forward to this book. Like hard. But I'm not looking forward to the love triangles either. Or Annabeth being made to seem bitchy or deceitful. IDK

I thought when I first started reading the second series that I couldn't like any of the characters as well as Percy and the gang. And then frank and Leo and Hazel ended up being my favorite characters of the whole shebang.

I ended up really liking all the new characters. Even the sort of bland Jason/Piper.

I'm hoping that Annabeth's task doesn't give Reyna any weight on Percy. I'm already dreading the Jason/Piper/Reyna meet up

Yeah. I have no idea how that's going to go (or that you spelled Reyna's name like that as we listened to the whole Camp Jupiter arc on audio on a long trip LOL).

annabeth IS bitchy, tho.

she was insufferable over jealousy in BotL, made only worse by how she was the least useful member of the quest despite leading it.

... can you not like a character who is bitchy or admit his or her faults?

i don't dislike annabeth, i'm ambivalent to fond of her most of the time, but she treated rachel like crap in BotL. and she WAS useless in that one despiste being quest leader.

Well, I certainly hope you can like people/characters who are bitchy, otherwise my family has been fronting for awhile now. LOL

I enjoy deeply flawed characters the best.

Perhaps I should have said that I don't find AnnaBeth bitchy. :)
