Not the op.

But that's just it. Sometimes you see stuff like: "X was miscast and doesn't have the skills necessary to pull off this type of character, and think oh they must know what they're talking about because they can formulate a well thought out comment. Forgetting that even that is still just an opinion and shouldn't be taken at face value any more than "X is a horrible actor!" ...

I guess it depends on what you're trying to "get" from criticism.

I don't always agree when someone says "X was miscast because blah blah blah...", but that type of statement can give me something to consider that simply saying "X is a horrible actor!" often doesn't.

Sure, it's an opinion either way, but that doesn't mean that you have to agree with them or that all opinions are equally valid. But when people give reasoning, and avoid overly-broad statements, that can give you more to go on when deciding if you agree or not, or if you think the opinion is an educated or reasonable one.

And while the example I gave probably isn't the best example of this, sometimes it can make it more clear that someone is speaking about their subjective opinion, and not claiming something that they believe is objectively true. There's a big difference between saying "X is a horrible actor!" and saying "The way X delivers his lines has always annoyed me. I don't care for his style at all." With the latter, even someone who's a big fan of X might respect your opinion.
