I'd also hazard that maybe it has to do with the kind of insults that come along with these seemingly-factual statements about acting quality.

"X can't act, and if you can't tell that, you must be blind!"

"Y is so terrible, the only reason anyone could stand them is because they're hot!"

"Z's performance was so terrible, any real fan should be mortified!"

There's a strong current of not only "my opinion is right" but also "if you disagree, then you're stupid/ignorant/don't know what you're talking about."
