Eh, not all of it is? Personally, I stay the hell away from the message boards and the larger shipper coms, and just stick to low-key LJ fandom. I've met some really fantastic people that way, and I get to ignore all the insanity ^_-

Good way of doing it! I'm lucky that a lot of my friends are into it on a pretty sane level, so I'll always be able to discuss it without the crazies. I just gotta catch up first.
