The person who wrote the secret was saying a bit more than that the wankstorm was funny. "Hare-brained theories" and "major denial" implied the person thinks that a Mai/Zuko kiss means that Zutara will never happen.

And YES, they did kiss! There's no denying it! But that still doesn't mean that Zutara (or any *other* ship for that matter) won't happen! That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, wank can be funny, I'll be the first to admit. And Zutara being such a large ship with so many members yields some serious fangirling. But there's nothing wrong with fangirling, until you start stomping on someone's feelings. And by calling things "hare-brained" you're kinda starting to cross that threshold.

I'll admit I think Zutara is still going to happen. It may not be til the last episode of the 3rd season---hell, it might be even later than that, if the show continues on past the 3rd season as I've heard it might be. But I'm not going to insult anyone over it, and I'd appreciate it if others don't as well.

I have heard some Zutaraians saying things like 'Maybe Zuko is being RAPED in that scene!'

RAPED. In a tv show rated for children as young as seven.

I have heard some fans state that they would PREFER for that kiss to be part of a rape scenario than for Mai/Zuko to be canon, even temporarily.

Please tell me how that sort of reaction isn't 'hare brained' or 'major denial'.

Clearly you have a better head on your shoulders that the people saying that sort of stuff and perhaps you have simply wisely avoided that sort of bullshit wank on the comms, but to be totally honest with you, the shit I've heard from some of the people on the Zutara communities is what makes me embarassed to admit that Zuko/Katara is my OTP.

THOSE are the people I laugh at, the really REALLY indignant defensive ones that act personally violated if someone who isn't Katara so much as touches Zuko in a friendly manner.

I'm sorry if you feel grouped in and insulted along with those extra batshit people, but I'm sure that they are the ones the OP is talking about and not you.

Good luck looking for Zutara hints in season three, for serious.

"Raped", huh? That is pretty bad. I have to admit I've managed to avoid some of the more-wanky discussions in one of the comms (I mostly go for the gorgeous Z/K fanart), so perhaps there really is some sad stuff being said. I can see why people would react strongly to that. That kinda disgusts me, also.

I'm glad you realize that not all of us on board that ship---yourself included---are stooping to that level and shouldn't be lumped in with the "hare-brained" comment. It would have been nice if the secret poster had specified that their comment was directed at a "Zuko gets raped" scenario or something similar, rather than just any possible theory to explain the kissing. I think the comment would have been a bit easier to swallow then, at least for me.

And as for Zutara hints, I'm sure at least a *few* will pop up. ^.~ If anything, we've seen that the creators certainly like to tease!
