Oh god, hindi dubs? I sure as hell do not want to know what that sounds like. Thankfully we don't get that in Singapore, but I think my brain sort of just broke imagining 1. anime characters speaking hindi and 2. speaking it in an awful dub voice.

I can understand if there weren't that many anime fans from that part of the world - not much exposure and spread there, and it just doesn't seem like the sort of thing that'd be intuitively appealing. And while I have never experienced it I have a terrible feeling I'd cringe more if I met an annoying fanbrat who was the same race as me than an annoying fanbrat who wasn't (I hate thinking this way but it's teh truth.)

But I still wish I didn't stick out like a sore thumb and everyone continues staring at me and speaking funnily when I go for meetings with my school's Japanese Club! I can speak Japanese better than some of them, even. >:(

I'd do cosplay for fun. But I'd rather do anime characters that only have dark skin because I have a nasty thing about people cosplaying who look vastly different from the original (so I think I'd actually do Anthy because my face apparently looks like hers - hey secret #4! - but body-wise I'm closer to Casca from Berserk. :[)
And I wish I knew where they were, the rest of you Indian/Pakistani fans! If not online then IRL. Gah.

Haha, yeah. I heard a few, and believe me, it's... yeah. Laughable is only touching the surface. Though at the very least, they don't censor like arabic dubs...

I agree with you, the fans I've met are either really awesome, or just wannabe otaku which is just gross. People are... guh, sorry you have to go through that. And... HRM. Well, I know I'm online, and I have a few friends here and there who're also of our culture and like anime/games/manga :D; ♥

Dude, totally go for Anthy or Caska. Or Rhode, she's awesome too. I've done some cosplay myself, then again, I'm fairskinned, so it's kinda easier for me. Still, I've seen some BEAUTIFUL cosplays done by darkskinned people, and you know, it becomes a matter of execution than anything. I wish you the best of luck if you do cosplay though!! ♥ And dude, I'd love to brush up on my Japanese as well. I find it easier when I translate Japanese to hindi/urdu than to english XD

Strange things (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgUJK0cwBco) come from India and often wind up on You Tube. I can only imagine how the anime dubbing is. And I had no idea you were Indian / Pakistani, Ms. Shahni. :-) Extra cool points.

AHAHAHA, I remember that from when I was a kid!! I think I was the only person who yelled, "SPIDERWOMAN'S COSTUME'S ALL WRONG!!" and none of the kids I knew watched Spiderwoman. D: And I'm Pakistani, yes. Still, we're all cool and the same? :3

Okay now I'm listening to that song's lyrics and DYING laughing. What a setting to have a love song on.
