I have no idea about the reference - haven't seen the film - but I totally agree with you. Sometimes just knowing there is a final option is a comfort in a weird kind of way. I got through some really awful times with the thought "If this doesn't work, you can always kill yourself." It's not exactly healthy but whatever keeps you going and gives you comfort in dark times.

Bruce Banner was telling everyone else that they couldn't kill him even if they tried -- because he once tried to blow his brains out to get rid of the Hulk, but couldn't, because when he pulled the trigger the Hulk came out and spit the bullet out harmlessly.

Also known as that scene where someone pulled out my heart and intestines and took a three hole punch to them before shoving them back in. :(

man i know exactly what you're talking about. it's a weird comfort, almost a way of feeling in control i guess. like, no matter how bad things get, you'll always have this option. but uh, proooobably not the best coping mechanism, huh
