TMI question about (female) masturbation and dryness down there

Sorry, I didn't really know where else to ask this, and since I've seen a few other posts about masturbation before in the general comments section I figured it would be all right (feel free to delete it if it's not).

As you might have guessed by the title it's about dryness, down there, whilst masturbating. It seems to be pretty well established in everything I've read that women are supposed to get wet when sexually aroused, including during masturbation. However, for me it's always like a desert down there, and I always have to use lubrication.

Even when I climax I either only produce a tiny amount of fluid, or nothing at all. Is this a sign of something wrong? I'm an asexual virgin, so I can't compare it with any (non-masturbatory) sexual experiences. I definitely feel aroused when I masturbate, but just don't get wet with it like women are supposed to.

I've a cis female and I've had sex (only with men) and I don't get wet with sex or masturbation. Maybe a tiny bit sometimes, but if I want to insert anything vaginally (penis or dildo) I always have to use lube. Even fingers are uncomfortable without at least saliva. It's been that way all my life.

I never did enjoy sex much, but I've been enjoying masturbation -- I just keep it mainly clitoral.

For me it varies a lot depending the time of the month. Around ovulation I'm super wet (which is annoying since some days it's necessary to wear pantyliners to avoid feeling dirty) but right before and after my period I'm super dry.

So, uhm not really helpful suggestions or anything. I don't think something is wrong with you, tho.

I wouldn't get to worked up about what women are "supposed" to do. Everyone's body is different. This is also something that might vary with age, hormones, etc.

I kind of doubt sex with another person would produce a different result - I've never noticed a difference - unless the approach was dramatically different (like, when you masturbate, it all happens too fast?).

I've never heard of this being a symptom of any problem, so I wouldn't worry too much, but you could bring it up with a doctor the next time you have a chance to get a check-up.

You could ask a doctor if it really bothers you, but I don't think that's unusual. Your body is not the same as every other woman's, and there's nothing wrong with needing lube.

Everyone's different. And our bodies change as we get older. Don't stress it, see a doc if you're really worried (or ask one at your next gyno exam), and just be gentle with yourself physically and mentally. :)

A lot of women use lube! I think it's reasonably normal.

I'm the opposite; I get wet down there at just completely random times when I'm not in the least aroused to the point where I have to wear pantyliners every day.
