I hate the unacknowledged virginity fetish that a good portion of J/7 fandom has (or had; I admit that I haven't been super-active in the fandom in years and things might have changed since I was). Anyway, I've lost count of how many fics I've read where a huge deal was made over how Seven is a pure, holy virgin who knows nothing about sex or romance and must be gently (or not-so gently) guided into the world of lovemaking by Janeway. Sometimes it's done well, but more often than not you have fics where Seven is portrayed as being childlike to the point of idiocy and Janeway comes across as a sexual predator.

Also, sometimes the fandom's mockery of Chakotay has kind of a racist feel to it, and that really bugs me. There are plenty of ways to make fun of him without bringing his race and culture into it, though goodness knows the show itself wasn't exactly racially sensitive either.

Oh my god THANK YOU I thought I was the only person who was "um..." about those fics. :\
