Cause I fucking hate that shit, and I can't even explain why.

I can't explain the entirety of my hatred for it either, I have such a variety of negative reactions to it, the strongest of which is probably the crippling second-hand embarrassment that I don't really understand, but I've managed to firmly pin down three out of many, many vague reasons:

1) Peter Parker/Spider-Man is not Peter Parker or Spider-Man without Aunt May, Uncle Ben, financial problems, overwork, forced independence, lack of resources, personal villains, and secrecy.

2) Infantilization vibes like whoa.

3) Basically impossible to keep any of them remotely in-character.

Even if it's just fanart I still have this visceral HATE towards it. Ugh

But these are definitely just some of the reasons I can't stand the idea. Even when it's an AU.
