(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)Since the Hulk is Bruce on some level, would it make you feel better to think that Bruce's suicide attempt was just that, an attempt from which he consciously or subconsciously wanted to be rescued? If Hulk is a protective response to Bruce's wounded inner child, then maybe if Bruce truly believed that death was the best way for him and would bring him peace, then Hulk would let it happen.
