That's a stupid policy. It doesn't excuse using company time that you're being paid for to not do any work. And if you have no other work to do and the supervisor won't give you any? Ask to leave early. Any boss who is worth their title won't see the point in paying you to not do anything productive.

This very rarely happens, I might add. There is always going to be extra work to do. Always. Even if it's just a head start on tomorrow's stuff, or double-checking the work that was already done to catch any mistakes.

You know why people around you don't do their jobs, and never seem to get in trouble for it? Because you enable them. You clean up their messes and cover for them and then whine and cry about it.

LOL, no. I clean up after them because if I don't, I'm the one who gets reprimanded and possibly terminated. Because the people who do this are the boss's buddies, so they're not going to get blamed for anything. It's called office politics. But I suspect from the vitriol that you are one of these lazy, shiftless wastes of payroll who are mad that they aren't being paid to spend half their day on Facebook/Twitter/Fandom Secrets.
