Mako-chan is always the best thing about Sailor Moon!

She's been my hero forever, in every incarnation of the show, for many of the same reasons.

She makes me want to be more athletic and physically strong. I have health issues that kill my stamina and make it difficult to really be successful at it, but she still inspires me. Aside from Utena, Makoto has been the one character I associated with the most. I'm the "tall girl" (Mako and I are the same height, which makes me happier than it probably ought to) who's very tomboyish but kind and gentle at the same time.

Long story short, I'm happy to see other people finding the same level of inspiration for her. :3

Same, same! (I have health issues kind of like that, too, but it doesn't stop me from trying!)

(By the way, might I suggest gardening? In my experience, it's been a pretty decent way of building up strength at a low, easy pace, and it's always helped with my energy level.)

I actually do a lot of walking and bike riding when I can. I'm currently without a car so I kinda have to make do. I'm pretty strong for my size and health level, but I could always be stronger!

I haven't read the manga in a long time but all I remember back when I read it as a kid was that she was tall and that's why she wasn't considered girl enough.

I always found that sad.

People thought she was scary because she was big and had a stereotypical "girl delinquent" look about her; that was why they didn't like her very much.

It's not that terribly uncommon, I guess, 'cos the same thing happened to me all the time in school.

PGSM! I love it so so much!

Mako-chan has admittedly never been my favourite but I do adore her and other anime/manga that show that some of the toughest looking girls are in fact the most girlie of all!
