Clearly not that many, given they pulled a full Poochy with him, attempting to completely alter his character ("I've been a little too proactive...") before giving up and giving him the most horrible and yet permanent ending.

"What have they done to you, my alien friend?"
"This must be death, because it's killing me."

And that might actually be an effective argument if the show was at all known for its consistent characterization, sensible character development or unwillingness to kill off characters regardless of fan opinion. I didn't say he was a fandom darling; I said people liked him even though or perhaps even because he was a dick. How the show treated him is not proof otherwise.

Possibly otherwise. Because as far as I'm concerned they gave him complex though not always likeable material, including an impactful death scene, because BG could actually act unlike the majority of the rest of the cast.
