I totally agree. I also think he wasn't a good choice for Captain America at all. Johnny Storm? Ok. Lead in romantic comedies? Ok. Angry engineer in Sunshine? Ok. But not captain America. I don't believe him. :D

Or maybe he's a correct representation of America - prejudiced dickhead.

How is he a prejudiced dickhead? Didn't see any of that in CA, and if you're referring to his rigidness in the Avengers...well, I'd like to see even the most forward-thinking and easy-going person in the world wake up 70 years in the future and not be a bit bitter and inflexible for a while. He's not a saint, after all.

Also, if you're referring to comics authenticity? In the comics, Captain America had a complete nervous meltdown after being defrosted and went through a phase where he dressed Rick Jones up like Bucky and referred to him as Bucky and trained him and made him act like his sidekick and denied that Bucky was dead because now he had a new Bucky. So, you know, don't knock the characterization of a guy just a few weeks out of hibernation, because it could've been a lot, lot, lot worse.

It could've and I understand that, but it doesn't make me any more sympathetic towards his character. There wasn't anything that would make me enjoy his character. I didn't enjoy the Captain America movie, I found it even more boring than Thor. I didn't like his character in that movie and I don't like him now in Avengers.

But I was mostly talking about Chris Evans's portrayal. I just don't think Chris Evans is a good choice for an essentially good man, a leader with steady morals. I don't think he fits it. I think he's good as a side character, not the main character and certainly not one like this. I think someone else would be a better choice and probably would be able to make the character work for me. If you think he makes a good Captain America, then that's your opinion. Just not mine.

Uh, yeah, that's not what I was asking. If you didn't like him, that's perfectly fine, but how is he a "prejudiced dickhead"? I'd like to know why someone would call him that when he's humorless and uptight at worst, and doesn't display any prejudice and isn't an unwarranted jerk to anyone.
