Except that the way SATs used to be standardized made a moderate amount of sense since the questions were all multiple choice/free response with x amount of possible right answers. If you're taking an exam where you write multiple essays, there is literally no way for a board to objectively decide what are the "best" essays in such a large grouping. That's my issue. It really does matter what your grader is looking for.

So by "AP exam" you meant "AP liberal arts, excluding math and physics and other hard sciences"?

Even so, it's not only your state that you're being graded against. What proof do you have that the AP graders in your specific state are purposely, intentionally marking you down just to maintain a sense of difficulty? What purpose would that serve, if your whole state simply ends up scoring worse on average compared to every other state in the nation? That would make the AP program in your state look worse, not better.

It sounds like you're bitter tbh.

It sounds like you're bitter tbh.

And here I thought that was blindingly obvious from the start!

And yeah, if, as I said in the first part, I'm trying to get into a liberal arts program, I would kinda think that I'd be talking about liberal arts APs, since most programs that specify a certain amount of APs require them to be in subjects relevant to the program you're applying to.
