Feeding vegans can be tough. Vegetarians are easy. Vegans are hard.

Not only that, but I imagine it's actually difficult to find "wildflowers" for your wedding. The flowers we all like and use at weddings tend to be cultivated and domesticated, and look nothing like natural flowers. The only ones you're likely to find are small and kinda dinky looking.

Unless she went and uprooted like, five fields of flowers, I doubt she had enough to look like she decorated at all.

I mean, nothing against what she did, but it's not necessarily cheaper or better just because she did it that way.

And she didn't wear a vintage gown, apparently. It was a designer gown. She just wore a non-traditional tea-length gown. And I believe it was a location wedding on top of that.

However--even if she did all that the other person said...well, she can feel good about herself and all, but she does have the money to throw awesome expensive parties every year (or more), as well as attend limitless ones. Contrast against a middle class couple who will only ever throw one big party in their entire lives--their wedding. They'll never get another party like that at their scale, I imagine.

And it's always those couples that do those simple, inexpensive weddings whose stay wed the longest.

C'mon. I can see your reasoning, and my knee-jerk reaction is to agree with it (as someone inclined towards inexpensive weddings), but is there anything backing up what you say?

Feeding vegans can be tough.

Where did you get that idea? Food Not Bombs cranks out vegan food all the time with donated and dumpstered food and it's perfectly tasty and of course really cheap. I used to live in mostly-vegan houses where we'd spend 30AUD/week each on food, organic too.

It's hard to feed vegans if you are used to putting animal stuff in food, and your pantry and mental recipe book is full of it, but if you know what you're doing, it's really easy. So potentially a vegan wedding catering could be pretty cheap, because animal products tend to be expensive.

That said, I imagine Portman's vegan wedding food would somehow be arty and expensive and full of exotic shit unless they were trying to do locally grown, simple food.
