I was a multi-shipper with a bent towards Wincest when it came to SPN, but in the last couple of years, I've seen the Wincesters become so gross and hateful over Cas, Misha, and Dean/Cas in general that I now loathe Wincesters and Wincest. (I've also discovered I'm having the same problem with Sam-fans this summer, since they're all being so wretched, I'm starting to associate him with his fans and it's making me dislike the guy)

Yeah, yeah, I've seen this bullshit rationalization before. If I wasn't actually an active participant in this fandom across all different sites, I might actually believe you. Except I rarely see the Misha/Cas fans treating Wincesters and J2ers like shit, and I see the opposite every single fucking day. Over and over and over. So unless you know of a super secret place where all the Misha/Cas fans congregate in secret to bash the shit out of Wincesters, you're full of shit.

Your experience of "all different sites" across the fandom is as subjective as anyone else's. I'm really fucking sick of this argument on both sides. It's petty and childish, and people whining that "the other guys are worse" doesn't actually make them look better. Like what you like, hate what you hate, and let other people share their opinions (yes, even negative ones) in their own space. Anyone trying for the moral high ground at this point is pretty ridiculous.

Please. Wincesters and J2 Tinhats are notorious for doing all kinds of awful shit, like petitioning to have Misha fired, even sending the petition to his costars asking them to sign, or tweeting Jensen's wife that they hope she gets cancer or Tweeting Misha that his wife is ugly. They create comms where it's forbidden to mention Castiel unless you're talking about how ugly he is. They create hateful tumblrs about how ugly MC is, and tag their posts so all the MC fans will see them. They boo Misha at conventions. I mean, they even have a comm that spends 80% of it's time bashing the J's wives and families, in addition to Misha and his family.

I'm actually really tired of people pretending that the Cas/Misha/DeanCasshippers are anywhere near the level of nastiness that the Wincesters and J2ers are. Sure, they're annoying sometimes. They can be loud and childish (esp on tumblr) and embarrassing and overly excitable, but they aren't vicious like the Wincesters are.

You are confusing "Wincest fans" with "trolls". The majority of the former go about enjoying themselves without making noise, and the entirety of the latter are so fucking loud that they look bigger than they are. HTH.

And you acting like the fandom is two sides and buying into the idiotic us vs. them thing is what I hate about this whole stupid argument. There are shitty J2 fans and shitty Dean fans and shitty Cas fans and shitty Sam fans. There are shitty fans of everything under the sun. I'm glad you've never encountered any shitty fans on your "side". I just think the idea that there should be sides is childish bullshit, and I think it's pretty stupid that people are trying to reinforce it.
