(Anonymous) 2012-10-02 06:00 am (UTC)(link)The people who told you those things were pretty much the opposite of what most people who actually advocate against racism/sexism/homophobia/ect are.
The problem is that the assholes you met and actual good people working against isms of all sorts are both called SJ Warriors by other people and these groups are also both dismissed - because the asshole minority puts people off and because actual bigots don't want to confront their bigotry.

The SJWs are the ones who draw attention to themselves by being assholes while using SJ was an excuse.
