I think you shouldn't be afraid to go in alone. Part of the beauty of it is meeting other players along the way and players in this game are very nice to each other.

I thought the whole point was to co-op with random strangers anyway, why would you even be playing with your friends?

Oh I haven't played that but I want to. I heard about it from Extra Credits and what they said made me really wanna try.

Erm. The selection of who joins you online is completely random. There is no way to force a friend to join you even if they wanted to play the game. Unless you're talking only about having someone there in person then I can understand.

I play a lot of games and watch a lot of things that I can't fangirl/boy with anyone. Eventually you learn to just appreciate things your way.

There is a way to force it, actually, but yeah. Definitely not the point.

OP, if you're looking for people who love Journey, there's the whole internet? The fandom developed like... like one would expect this sort of work to develop a fandom, so very little fic and lots of visual works and assorted creativity, shared stories and the occasional bout of meta. It's quite lovely.

I've tried to meet up with my PSN friends in Journey before ("Meet here in this level" etc) and it doesn't work out quite like that. You can't *intentionally* play with your friends, but playing with the strangers you do run into is just as rewarding, if not moreso.

Don't be afraid to take the plunge. I did my first playthrough offline and solo just to get a feel for it, but I won't play the game offline anymore since then because it's so much more when you go through it with a companion. Plus most of the people I've met in-game have been super nice (at least in terms of sticking with you and helping you find things), and when I run into people who are obviously newer to the game, I try to do the same for them (show them where the glyphs and scarf pieces are, etc).

I'm not - I've actually played it multiple times. What I was trying [and failing OTL] to get across was that I wanted people to do *fandom* stuff with. Specifically people to have meta discussions with, mostly.

Apparently I worded this badly - I don't mean as far as *playing* the game goes. I mean fandom discussion, etc. I want people to talk to about the game.

Have you checked journeystories on Tumblr, OP? I'm told that the official boards are also very nice. Pixiv kind of exploded, if you're also into fanart. Lots of talent on that front.

Eeee Journey secret! I bought it the other day and ended up loving it so much. What a lovely and unique game. I'm not really good at meta discussions and stuff like that (English is my second language, long discussions online take me way too much time; I end up being annoying), but I'm sure you will find some people to talk with you, OP :)

This game is a big reason why I think I will probably get a PS3 once I move out and am able to have a good enough internet connection to play it.
