This. I was wildly in love with the movie from the moment I walked out of the theater and spent an unhealthy amount of time discussing and fangirling over it, and yet I wasn't remotely interested in any of the pairings for a long time after the movie started, and I still don't actively ship anything. I'm open to lots of pairings for the sake of fantastic porn (can't think of a single combo of the six that isn't hot in some way) or good stories that hit all the tropes I desperately want to read about but are unfortunately rare in gen-flavor (Bruce/Tony), but I don't ship anything. I sorta ship Clint/Natasha, but I actually DGAF if they're bffs or lovers so that probably doesn't count.

Honestly, the shippy fic is usually the least satisfying type of fic for me. I like a lot of them, but they quite frequently miss so many of the levels I fangasmed over and feel so disconnected from the stuff I loved about the film that it doesn't satisfy my "NEED MOAR" reaction to the film. What I really love is team-fic, or character-fic, or friendship/dynamic-fic rooted in the film's subtext, or fics elaborating on the events and plot of the movie.

Yeah, I like fics like that too. I do tend to write shippy fanfic, but....the stuff I call "shippy" fanfic is normally more focused on developing both of the characters more and just using the relationship as part of the plot to drive the exploration of their personalities and stuff.

And there's some fandoms I don't really ship anything in, too.

I'm actually terrible at writing shippy fic, so I'm always gobsmacked that people can write marginally-believable romances with adequate logic and pacing :D

And yeah, I get what you mean -- most stuff I ship is due to the fact that I like what the pairing does to the two characters' personalities, which is why it baffles me when retcons and AUs and reboots drastically change the characters, yet fans keep shipping them anyway. Like, wouldn't that completely negate your reasons for shipping it in the first place? Unless of course you ship it for entirely different reasons...

Oh god, I felt so alone. This is so me. I am totally scribbling hearts with variations of my name and initials if we were married in my science notebook right now.

The good thing about the internet is that you're NEVER alone/the only one :D Rule 34 doesn't just apply to porn!
