I want both.

I think that Better Off Ted might have survived if it has premiered a couple years later when ABC already had a more solid comedy block with Modern Family and The Middle. I think the humor in Better Off Ted would have meshed well with Happy Endings.

But alas.

At the time, ABC didn't have much in the way of comedy programming, so Better Off Ted kind of got lost.

I really think it needed to be on cable, or sandwiched between mega-hits (which are few and far between these days.) Even if it was airing this year in a slot after Modern Family and before Happy Endings, I still think it would bomb. It was just too odd to live on broadcast.

ITA. I loved the show, but it was ahead of it's time so to speak.
