(Anonymous) 2012-10-03 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)But I would say that Lydia is incredibly self-centered. She is either an idiot, or she leads Stiles on. The date, the birthday stuff, the dance, etc. I don't understand why she doesn't tell him that she isn't interested in him like that--unless she's using him. Because, in my mind, she's *that* sort of girl.
And considering that she has a boyfriend, I really hate how people keep telling Stiles to ask her out. He needs to be told to let her the fuck go. Not encouraged.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-03 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)The date: We don't know how Stiles presented the double-date to her and if even presented it as a date at all. Lydia doesn't seem to know she's on a date until he starts doing his "sometimes unexpected things go together really well!" speech and then Stiles backs off and she has her hallucination.
The birthday stuff: He brings her a ridiculously large and expensive present (seriously, who buys a flatscreen TV for someone they're not even decent friends with) and then doesn't even socialize with her at the party until Allison guilt trips him and Scott about no one being there to celebrate with her.
The dance: Allison sets the two of them up to go to the dance. Stiles doesn't ask Lydia and Lydia doesn't ask him. She doesn't do anything to lead him on except agree to dance with her after he gives her the, "Only I see how cold you are~" speech.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)I agree. I think, even IF Lydia outright tells Stiles she isn't interested, he'll KEEP pursuing her, anyway, and that really bothers me. I like the idea of him getting over it and them growing closer as friends, myself.
