There,there, take a deep breath. It's only 12 episodes and you don't have to watch it if you don't want to. It's fine.

And, hey, better a show that makes you rage and and rant than a show that bores you to tears, right?

Man...that show did get me angry at some of it, but...outside the major cheescake, it was actually a fascinating zombie romp. And I liked him.

But yeah......that is a definite guilty pleasure show. >_>

Yeah, I think he was really the only character I liked. Him and the pink-haired tsundere girl's parents.

I wanted to like Saeko since she was supposed to be the badass kuudere, but she was ridiculous. For one episode, she wore nothing, but a freaking apron and wall all cool and collected, and then, in another episode, water splashed on her and made her shirt see-through, and she flipped out and started blushing.

Takashi was boring and stereotypical, Rei and Saya were annoying, and Shizuka was just fanservice.

I have to admit I really liked the zombie fight scenes, though. Those were pretty entertaining.

Oh. I've been avoiding this show because I'm fairly certain there's nothing there to entertain me (ott fanservice and zombies aren't really cutting it imo).

But now I want to plod through it because there might a little nugget of awesome in there. I've watched and whinged through worse for less (everything post season 2 of Being Human UK for instance).

I thought it was a dumb show, but I didn't rage because I've sat through plenty of even worse shows than HotD and have built up a nigh inhuman tolerance of really bad anime.

That said, I didn't hate it because hey, zombies! I wish there were more zombie anime out there. Also, Hirano is hands down the best character in the entire show, so no shame in that. I also sorta like Saya, but I figure I'm in the minority on that.

Nah Saya is pretty great.

Her and Hirano just make the show. He wouldn't be nearly as good without her to play off.

Saya and Hirano are, by far, my favorite characters in the series, and I wish the whole show was about them. Everyone else is utterly uninteresting, but Saya and Hirano are really fascinating.

OP - I understand. I almost gave up after Takahashi decided that a good way to snap Saeko out of her breakdown was grab her viciously by the breast and squeeze, and that he should beat the ever-loving crap out of Saya because he didn't like the fact that she had issues with her parents. Only characters I really liked were Saeko, Saya, Alice, Kohta and Zeke/Zero.

Oh man, I ran into an episode of that on TV the other night and all I could think was "Boobs don't move like that". Probably would have continued watching it if it weren't for that.

I'd love a version where they cut out the fanservice. Seriously, the series was ruined by those excessive panty shots. Didn't need to see that while the girls in question are being eaten.

How can you hate High School of the Dead? It's a smoothly-animated Z-day shonen riot with a slice of high school ecchi/harem, it's Exactly What it Says on the Tin. If you like that kind of thing, it's exactly the kind of thing you'd like. Unless you just didn't know what it was about when you started watching it..?

I didn't mind the fanservice at first, but then it became an almost non-stop thing, and I found it made me feel VERY uncomfortable.
