I agree, Anon, but I can understand those people. Before this event, they all worried it means Old!Evil!Loki is coming back. I believe they are just trying to assure themselves this isn't the case.

(And honestly, Loki who's clearly evil is just as bad as Loki who's clearly good. Long live the trickster!)

Oh yeah, I totally understand why they're all "Oh yeah, he must be good". Believe me, I'm feeling that way half the time myself.

But. The worry/dread that he might just be putting on another act and manipulating everyone is what's making this crossover so damn awesome.

I consider myself between the fans who expect that Kid Loki's intentions are still being... mostly good, or as good as they can be in any case. And I immediately figured it was obvious he was playing fic!Leah and Surtur just as he was playing Thor in the lava pit (hello, he's been doing it through all the book?)

But dammit, I agree wholeheartedly that the moral ambiguity and constant backstabbing to both sides is HELLA AMAZING. I should've been devastated after that chapter but nope, pure glee! Classic trickster! I adore the archetype, and precisely what I love about Kid Loki vs most Marvel!Lokis is the fact he's an excellent one, and he keeps being gray even when he's trying to do the right thing.

For me it's that - we think he's trying to do the right thing. We think. But we don't know. Hell, we still don't know - did he (spoilers for JiM 644) save Leah because he honestly wants her to have a better life? Or is that another manipulation because he knows he'll need an ally after all this is done?

What I love most about this is - we just really don't know how much of what he professes to think or feel or says/implies of his motivations is real and how much of it is an act. And we don't know who that act is being put on for.

I totally get what you mean. Me, I am aware this is wishful thinking from my part and there's a strong chance Kid Loki and Gillen are also playing us -the readers, the audience, the fans. Trickster through and through! And yeah, whatever he's doing with fic!Leah is just as complicated as anything else. I've stopped theorizing to just enjoy the surprises.
