Not to be an ass, but we're talking about Shinji here. You identify with him and at the same time think he's awesome? Are you sure about that?

Not OP but- yeah, I identify with him and think he did some pretty awesome things. Because he is a whiny brat, but he can get over his whininess and pilot and giant mecha and kick ass despite it.

Characters that get over themselves and do something are pretty awesome to me.
