I came to ask this.

Surely there are other things they can fan about, yes? Not all shows' intel overlaps, the person could read, or get into movie fandoms if they have a problem with TV. So many options in fandom! Who knew?

So seriously OP? It seems you 1) have a problem with telling actors and character apart 2) need to stop bragging about your awesome but hard life 3) need to be able to appreciate characters even if you know how they were made.

I didn't even know 3 could be a problem. How does that detract from the character at all?

But whatever, this secret seems more of a chance to brag then to air a grievance because seriously, these problems don't really seem like problems at all. (Except maybe the last one. Long hours on the job suck no matter what you have to do.)

I think they meant that being in the industry can kind of ruin that 'movie magic' for some people. It did for my friend, she's not in fandom so it didn't affect her that much really though.

That being said, there's still books.

I guess I can understand that. I guess I just think it's weird because I write plays but it hasn't ruined plays for me. Then again, everyone is different and my experiences aren't everyone else's.

There are so many other mediums that aren't TV/Movie. So, so many.

naryt- I don't know about 1. I myself have a pretty big issue seperating the actor from the character, and I don't exactly know why. I solve this by simply not taking too much interest in the character- not watching interviews or stalking facebook/twitter accounts or generally looking them up.

But if I was working with them like OP I guess it'd be harder.

I can separate the character from the actor but I think if I worked with the same actors, or orbited their spheres, the way the OP might, I would have a very difficult time getting into the characters fangirl-wise because I'd primarily know them as actors. Once you see the hottie belching or farting at the Kraft table, it's kind of hard to write smut about the guy he plays on TV, or something like that.
