But, what I'm assuming from your secret, you acknowledge that Peter/Lydia is fucked up and the fucked-uppedness is what draws you to the relationship. Although I haven't read Twilight or 50 Shades, what I get from those fandoms is a lot of the fans of the main 'ships are viewing those relationships as an ideal or romantic or something to want in their real lives. Having that awareness of the dysfunction of Peter/Lydia makes it an entirely different ballgame.

I actually had a lot of fun reading Twilight, but was completely surprised that a lot of the fandom took it crazy seriously as legit awesome/ideal romance.
