1. There's fandom of things other than TV shows.
2. I find it hard to believe that television is such a small world that you can get spoilers to any show just because you work in one small corner of the industry.

This secret just seems... unlikely.

I thought that too. Plus, who doesn't know about the work that goes into a show? Granted, it probably doesn't seem as magical because you're actually working (because there's always drudge work in any industry). Yes, I know for Hugh Laurie to be bad-ass there are directors, writers, crew, make-up artists, props... but I love behind the scenes type things too.

I'm not sure if I think it's a troll-y secret with a grain of truth (maybe this is really an actor on a show who wants attention but isn't a big enough actor that if they gave themselves named attention they wouldn't get their ass fired?).

Seriously. I know, at least in regards to Pretty Little Liars, they don't tell the actors anything. The writers keep everything a secret and they guard those secrets like woah. Marlene King, the executive producer/creator/writer, won't even tell her wife any major spoilers.

So yeah. Doesn't seem legit.

Yeah, I legitimately did used to work in the industry (in shitty, ridiculous production jobs that paid nothing or next-to-nothing), and people rarely know what's going on outside their own little sphere, in part because everyone's so busy with what they're doing that no one has enough time for that. Besides, as other commenters said, a lot of productions lock their shit down pretty tight.

At the same time, for actors, a lot of the job is waiting for other people to do shit, so one of the reasons I suspect this secret is that if the OP were really a television actress and wanted to get involved -- hey, OP, what's stopping you from getting like an iPad and checking up on things while you're sitting around with your makeup on waiting for the DP to finish tweaking the lighting?
