If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live and why?

I like it here in Los Angeles so I'd probably just stay here, but live in the city itself rather than the suburbs. (I may have to move, for what it's worth, so this is a serious wish.)

But I think I'd like any big city. London could be amazing. I'm just a city girl I guess.

LONDON. Which is mostly relevant right now because I had a conversation with a couple of the people I work for today, and they are thinking of transferring me to the company's UK office later this year, so I would basically get to LIVE MY DREAMS. I thought I was going to pass out just talking to them about it.

But seriously, I love London because it is a city and it has a ton of history and cool buildings and museums and theater, and also a pretty rad public transportation system, which makes all of that stuff more accessible.

I went to college in Boston and I really miss it, so I'd love to live there. I also really like the Pacific Northwest and I think Seattle (or Olympia) or Portland would be nice.

For me, what makes a place nice to live in is having an interesting, enjoyable job first and people I like spending time with second (I put people second because I can always make friends wherever, but not every community supports jobs in my field) so I'd need either a job offer or good prospects of finding a good job before I'd move somewhere. Other than that, I generally prefer cities.

It's the only place I've ever really felt comfortable, considering. When I did live there, and had to actually say where I lived, I was almost always asked, "Are you one of them Cassadaga witches?"

...and I could answer 'yes'.

San Francisco <3 It's basically perfect to me, and the first time I visited, I basically went, "Okay, yeah, I could really happily live here." It's the culture (museums! I'm a museum studies graduate who focuses on natural history and science, set me up at the California Academy of Sciences and I may never leave!), the food, the setting (Pacific love! I lived in Tucson for five months while on exchange and almost cried when I flew back to SF and saw the ocean, I neeeed to be near the coast), just... everything.

I love my home city of Sydney, and I wouldn't be too upset if I stayed here, but San Francisco has all the things I love about Sydney as well, AND proximity to fantastic places like Yosemite, Monterey (aquarium <3 ), and Muir Woods. And it's really not that far from other gorgeous cities, like Seattle! Literally the only complaint I have about it is the weather, since I prefer warmer climates, but hell, I'll deal with it.

London or Tokyo simply because they seem like fun, interesting places to live.

Russia is my dream. I know it's fucking enormous, but I don't know specifically what area I'm most interested in other than FUCKING ALL OF IT.

But I am worried about social issues there and safety and the crime rate etc. So I'll probably just end up in Alaska.

I don't know. There's lots of amazing places to live, but to be honest, I would be really nervous about moving to almost anywhere, because I'm pretty bad at meeting new people, so I would pretty much be totally anxious and afraid that I was going to be incredibly lonely and miserable.

So I'd probably live either where I am now, because I know people here, or Chicago, because I know people in Chicago.

If I knew I'd have a decent social circle and all that, maybe London would be nice. If I didn't have to worry about language either... I would really love to live in Vienna, it's such a beautiful city with so much history.

If I could rotate my living conditions between Montreal, New York City, Zacapa, London/Liverpool, Vancouver, Toronto, Austin, Drumheller, Amsterdam, and even my hometown with ease, I'd do that.

I'm so temperature sensitive, I can only really survive somewhere warm. So in the long run, I'll probably stay here in the greater LA area. But if someone wants to send me to Venice or something, I'm not gonna complain. Fuck snow.

In Canada (to be realistic, lol) - Victoria. BC. It's lovely and smaller but you still get a city fix. :)

In the world... I dunno, Italy? I've fantasized about at least visiting for the last couple of years now. Probably Florence.
