Your demographics theory makes sense. I can name at least one other big gateway fandom that's currently going strong, but that fandom is Twilight, and I'm not sure that's where you go to learn about having a non-hyperbolic relationship with a text.

I got my start in HP fandom by the way, omg memories <3

That isn't to say we're better than anybody who thinks Sterek should/could/will be canon. It's just that... we're more cautious possibly.

This also makes sense. Hell, I'd love it if it became canon, but like you, I'm not going to hold my breath or bet my mother's life. Anyway, thank you for sharing your ideas with me, you are wise.
