That's a dumb question to ask. It's the exact same difference between sexual romance and sexual platonic love, duh. One involves intimacy and attraction like anons have said above and the other doesn't whether sex is there or not.

I wasn't asking because I don't know the difference myself, I was asking because it's hard for me to put into words, and I was curious about how others would view it.

I'm sorry, it's just that many of the people I know in real life have basically told me what I thought you were telling me, so I went on the offensive when I should have asked for clarification. I just hate that kind of question coming from people who are all lawl asexuality is a myth, and your therapist sounds really similar to them. "But how is it ~different~???" because they can't imagine romance without sex, and the answer is it's exactly the same. The only difference is there's no sex involved.

I agree. Every time I talk about it she's like "why are you afraid of sex?" and "BUT HOW LOVE WITHOUT SEX?????"

And yeah, I'm a little scared of sex, but only because it's something I haven't done and don't want to do - like how most people feel about skydiving?
