Yeah, fourteen year old are nuts. (That was the age my mom decided she was going to kill herself to prove to the world that her mother was a bad mommy, and the age at which I decided, after fourteen years of taking a bath every night before bed, to throw a massive temper tantrum and refuse to bathe one evening.)
