My best guess from having once spent an afternoon reading every message board I could on this is that he's left the church, his mom, sister and ex-wife have not, and part of the reason he has not been declared a suppressive person and shunned by them is that he keeps very very very quiet about it all. (I have no idea about his kids.) I've never read that Amanda was one, but it would not precisely stun me -- if she is, he's probably back into it.

I think Scientology is batshit, but given a)he was born into it and b)his books don't promote it and he doesn't pimp it in interviews, I'm inclined not to be too bothered about it.
