Huh. Yeah, no anchors for me. I distinctly remember shaking really bad and having that metallic taste of adrenaline in my mouth after watching my father get trampled by a cow, but thankfully I didn't throw up.

You know that subspace thing makes sense. I think, in general terms, it's probably depersonalizing yourself when exposed to repeated physical trauma. Your body just sort of refused to make cognizant connections to your brain.

Speaking of accessing it outside of it happening, I totally hear you. I've to the point where if I can't deal with normal safe life, I can go back to the state of those feelings. It's safer than feeling safe, I guess.
