7. The only reason I'd ever bother playing that game is her.
9. No. It's boring.
10. You shouldn't feel guilty! You were the more attentive moderators, you apparently earned your success.
13. Who is that? He looks neat.
15. See #4.
18. I like Mello, but Matt doesn't really have much going for him besides a nice character design. Srsly, even that blonde chick Mello was dating had more of a personality. I don't mind the pairing, but I can't see how it could possibly be interesting.
23. Haha... Hate to admit it, but I feel the same way about the second and third things you said.

(Anonymous) 2007-08-10 12:06 am (UTC)(link)I'd hate to see myself falling into the Mary Sue/self insert trap just because I had to make up a few key characters to make a story work, and then keep them around (and, yeah, inevitably pair them with canon characters) because I liked them.

Have I made OCs? Sure. I think probably everyone has at some point. I disagree with the concept of people trying to pressure others to stop doing what they like.

(Anonymous) 2007-08-10 12:39 am (UTC)(link)It's just that I always thought "Mary Sue" was a TYPE of OC. And I subscribe to the idea that: All Mary Sues are OCs. Not all OCs are Mary Sues. And to use the terms interchangably gives all OCs a bad rep (as being written as ultra talented and supposedly irrisistable characters being written by "young fans"). As a result, writing my OC--which should be something I enjoy--makes me anxious and feel dirty (not beacause I'm opposed to Mary Sues, but because I know I can do better than that) and I end up not enjoying it at all.
But at this point I don't even know what I'm talking about any more, so I'll stop. I can't believe I wasted so much time on such a silly non-existant arguement. XD
