Y'know, I'm getting kinda sick of this faux-martyrdom. Everyone has some crappy movies that they like and think are fun. It's a pretty well-understood concept. But every now and then someone just has to pull a Dennis the Peasant and go on about how they are so oppressed because the mean internets thinks that their guilty pleasure isn't solid gold. Where's the Cry Some Moar guy?

Cry some moar guy is killing cowards and robot cowards and trading hats with cowards and seducing german teammates.

Feel free.

Considering how much money these movies made also makes this kind of complaint seem silly.

I'd also like people to remember that the internet =/= the majority of society because some of these films are actually well loved by your average person. When I first started ranting about how I hated Avatar I actually had a hard time finding someone who agreed with me until I talked to a teacher who works in the film industry.

I could not agree with you more, Visp, I seriously could not. It's not because the haters have a problem with the movie (for me). What gets me are the crybaby haters who only say "wah wah wah" and never say "instead, they should have X, Y, Z and that would have made it better".

This brand of haters will never be happy because they have no idea what "ur doin' it right" looks like to them. I suspect it either doesn't exist or they think they are the only ones on the planet who are perfect examples of non-racism/sexism/bigotry. Which is funny because (and I really hope one of them is reading this right now) they themselves are ugly on the inside and the biggest basins of hatred and nastiness, the biggest generators of ill will, and their entire careers of "social justice" have never produced any good feelings or positive change in anyone. In fact, if they stop to think about it, the only thing they've ever managed to do in their SJ careers is generate malice, fights, bad feelings, and to spew more hatred.

So with that in mind, those movies up their did their jobs. They were distractions for the Martyrs and gave them focuses for their ugliness so that they could hold off realizing how powerless and useless their interwebs BAWing is against actual bigotry and how their screaming and making people feel crappy on the internet has never, ever, ever changed anyone's mind or done one thing to further their cause.

I don't think any of those movies are disliked for SJ issues.

The Last Airbender and Avatar's hatred had buckets of SJ-Rage for race, gender (somehow) at least. Wild Wild West had a few others.

Besides, the only kind of "seriously angry" rage the internet can ever seem to get up to is offended-Rage. Everything else is fun-hate that inspires humorous mocking, not cries for the creator's blood.

Maybe we travel in different circles on the internet, but I see enough fun, mocking hate. At any rate, there's plenty of SJ hate for some of those movies.

Um...hate to burst your bubble, but I believe visp was calling out people who are upset about the haters, not the haters themselves.
